Recent research has suggested that students need to be able to make choices and be in collaborative settings in order to reach their full learning potential. The staff at RES have recently read an article that explains the benefits in people (children included), choosing even simple things like seating. Walk into a Starbucks and you will see adults making these same choices. Sometimes we need a comfortable couch to curl up in and do our professional reading. Sometimes it is a desk where we work best. Several of our teachers are giving this new mindset a try. Mrs. Sharron is reporting the students are really enjoying this and working well with the choices they make.
